Across the harbor
from the main town of Kolonia on Ponape, Sokehs Rock rises 623 feet
above the sea. This prominent feature served as a primary location
for Japanese defenses on Ponape, which included concrete bunkers,
twin-barrel dual-purpose guns and 6-inch coastal defense guns.
